The latest
Finally got through the main crush of orders from the heavy linkage we had, so now there’s a long stretch of smaller order days that I’ll be able to better catch up on. Thanks again for your patience and support! Be sure to check the order status page and cross reference you order date with where I’m currently at.
There have been a lot of requests for a book of these, but I’m not sure if I have the time to handle it myself. Anyone know any publishers who might be interested? We’re nearing the 500 mark and that would be a really nice collection of humor and random weirdness from the internet. Also some suggest a look into the human psyche. Back to the drawing board!

I bought some drawings on Sep. 27th and I never got a reply back. My order might have slipped through the cracks, but you just might not have looked at them yet because the order status page only goes up to the 20th. Is that the case?

John– yes i haven’t counted the new orders past the 20th up yet. Thanks for your patience!

Hi, I made two orders on August 2nd and was wondering how the orders work? because there are a few on here about Sarah Palin and she wasn’t announced as VP till August 29th. So orders not arranged by the dates they were sent on?

Basically, I think DJ’s workflow goes something like this:
1. Do jobs that earn money (over and above $2 per sketch)
2. Pay bills
3. If more bills to pay, go to #1
4. Hang out with kids and family
5. If more things to do w/ family, go to #4
6. Any more bills? If so, go to #1
7. Draw things that might create more paying work
8. Go to #2
9. Hang out with friends
10. Drink beer (or other drink of choice)
11. Deal with WillDrawAnything, processing requests in the order in which they’ve arrived (unless someone bribes DJ, in which case it probably falls under #1).
Horatio, I think you’re stuck on #7

Hey, sorry I missed these posts here. Horatio, the Sarah Palin strips were of my own doing and not related to the “Will Draws” feature. The orders are done in the order they were sent in, and I try to update the process page when I can so you can see the days orders I’m on…. however….
Actually the workflow goes more like this, I do take the Will Draws pretty seriously…
1. Wake up- get coffee… open photoshop… I try to do about 5 will draws before shifting to my other work for the day. I use it as warm up when I have big workloads to do. Some days I can do more than 5, others not. It depends on the level of detail or caricature or whatever. So its taking more than 5 minutes per drawing right now, and thats slowing things down as well.
2. Work on the BIG jobs that pay the bills for the majority of my “work day”– right now it is very busy.
3. Switch gears back to Will Draws if I have any energy or time left in the day.
The space between 2 and 3 depends on what I’m up to. Right now it’s a very busy time and I’m doing a bunch of work like a mad man to make ends meet. So I appreciate your patience and support more than you know! — But I do take the Will draws pretty darn seriously…

Hey DJ, Ya I had no doubt that you took it seriously. You have been doing amazing work and hope the pace doesnt kill you. You should rename the blog to “DJC’s “5 sketeches a day for life” challenge”.
God speed sir

Could you not ration the number of requests each day, so this adventure doesn’t turn into a living heck.

DJ, how much money are you making off all these Will Draws? I’m good at math and all, but you just said that someone paid 200 bucks for one drawing. I’m guessing you’re making a pretty penny.

just a little insight: you seem to get 5-15 willdraws a day, but produce only 3-6.
its backing up a little. maybe you should kick it up a notch and start gaining ground in this glorious battle of the fanboys?

Hmmm, last time I checked, asking someone how much they make is still considered a bit rude. (I mean DJ’s a open book and all that, but even he has some sort of limit)
I’m still hoping he starts something new, the will draws are not my favorite DJ creation.

im actually hoping hes got something giant planned. seing as how little ime is spent on willdraw, no yirmumahs, and the lack of recent flobot updates
